Brandy Smart has joined Atwell, LLC as its new director of environmental. Based in Houston, Texas, she will develop and implement growth objectives for the environmental services group, promote and expand Atwell’s environmental services internally to the oil and gas and real estate operations, and assist in client management and expansion of services to existing clients. She will also conduct business development efforts across the US with a heavy focus on Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, Florida, and Oklahoma.
Smart has spent her professional career for the last 23 years in the power and energy industry focusing on strategies to streamline the Federal and state permitting processes through detailed routing and siting analyses, as well as avoidance and minimization of natural resources for on-time construction of projects. Her knowledge of the permitting process and the construction of these projects is complemented by her ability to lead, grow, and mentor teams to do the same. Prior to joining Atwell, Smart spent nearly 10 years organically growing an environmental services operation while serving in multiple roles; director, vice president, and president. Over her career, she has overseen and managed the environmental portions of large electric transmission line projects, intrastate and interstate pipelines, and projects with civil surveys, right-of-way services, engineering, and pipeline anomaly construction.
