4.5 miles of 15-to 30-inch sewer line | 1.5 miles
of 16-inch water line | 1.5 miles of 16-to 20-inch reclaimed
water line
The sewer line, now the trunk line, forms the system backbone,
collecting wastewater from approximately five square miles of land
bisected by the new Santan Freeway.
During the first phase of the design contract, Atwell completed
a Sewer Study to calculate future flows, size the line, establish
the route and profile, estimate costs, and recommend project
phasing for use by the Town ofGilbertwith project funding.
Atwell prepared exhibits and made three presentations during public
meetings.
Once funding was approved, Atwell provided final design
services. Additional services included utility coordination,
right-of-way easements and legal descriptions, survey control and
topographic survey, submittal review and post design
services. The project also required extensive coordination
with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to cross the
Santan Freeway, as well as with adjacent property owners and the
Higley Unified School District for easement acquisition.
