This project posed unique circumstances with the City ofAnn
Arborseeking development approval fromPittsfieldTownship. Atwell
provided full-service land development consulting including
planning, preliminary and final engineering, land surveying,
ecological consulting, landscape architecture and construction
observation services for the entire complex which features the

Designed around an old man-made pond, Atwell was sensitive to
the natural features of the site with the firm's in-house
Ecological Team working closely with project engineers, planners
and local and state agencies. Atwell provided extensive
construction oversight, resulting in the successful establishment
of wetland characteristics, which facilitated release of 50 percent
of the MDEQ surety bond within the first year of construction.
The development also included significant off-site improvements
including paving a quarter mile of Stone School road.
Construction began in March 2006 and was completed in the summer of
2007.
