Atwell provided full-service land development consulting for this new distribution center including land surveying, wetland determination and delineation, site planning, civil engineering and construction documents.  Atwell's design team provided a flexible site design with the ability to accommodate future expansions to the facility.  In addition, special attention was paid to the site's vehicle circulation patterns to maximize shipping efficiency and minimize on-site traffic congestion.

This 9,000 sq. ft. multi-story office building is the City of Tampa's first privately funded, LEED-Gold certified building.

Atwell worked closely with the architect to provide site engineering, irrigation and landscape architecture designs to help facilitate the project's sustainable development goals.  Using sustainable stormwater management techniques, Atwell designed four retention ponds that hold stormwater on-site for percolation into the ground.  Permeable pavement is used in low traffic parking areas to reduce stormwater runoff volume and to filter pollutants.  Atwell also designed a low-drip irrigation system to promote water conservation alongside native plantings, including drought tolerant species, for low maintenance landscaping.

85,000 sq. ft. multi-story office building with an underground garage/storage structure.

Atwell provided land surveying and engineering services for this office facility located on approximately six acres.  Detailed services include topographic and ALTA surveys, Lot Split Map of the property, and design of grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer and fire lines.

Atwell incorporated innovative design solutions to overcome surface grading challenges and compatibility issues with the structural scheme of the garage decking, which provided limited options.  Additionally, existing sewer and fire lines had to be relocated due to the underground garage structure.

144,000-square-foot operations facility on 46 acres.

This project posed unique circumstances with the City ofAnn Arborseeking development approval fromPittsfieldTownship. Atwell provided full-service land development consulting including planning, preliminary and final engineering, land surveying, ecological consulting, landscape architecture and construction observation services for the entire complex which features the following facilities:

• 39,000 SF operations building
• 65,000 SF vehicle storage building
• 40,000 SF maintenance garage
• Salt storage dome
• Fueling facility

Designed around an old man-made pond, Atwell was sensitive to the natural features of the site with the firm's in-house Ecological Team working closely with project engineers, planners and local and state agencies.  Atwell provided extensive construction oversight, resulting in the successful establishment of wetland characteristics, which facilitated release of 50 percent of the MDEQ surety bond within the first year of construction.

The development also included significant off-site improvements including paving a quarter mile of Stone School road.  Construction began in March 2006 and was completed in the summer of 2007.
