46,825-square-foot data center designed to house many of the University's critical business and health systems data and equipment.
The Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) Machine Room will hold banks of computer servers and other equipment. As a key member of the development team, Atwell provided civil engineering services for the building as well as site improvements for parking and stormwater management. Detailed due diligence activities included the preparation of a Land Development Desktop (digital) model for use during the schematic development plan preparation process for site work. Atwell was heavily involved in coordination efforts with multiple oversight authorities, including the City of Ann Arbor, University of Michigan OSEH and University of Michigan Planning Office in order to meet specific design requirements.

Medical Campus Expansion
Located in a burgeoning community, Gilbert Hospital is implementing expansion plans derived from a master plan that ties the existing hospital to a neighboring 19 acre parcel. Atwell is providing land surveying and full engineering services for the expansion activities working closely with the Hospital's lead architect.
Phase I includes a two-story patient tower adjacent to the existing hospital allowing for easy patient, staff and visitor circulation. In order to accommodate the expansion, the addition is situated within an existing retention basin which was redesigned to hold the same volume of water with the help of retaining walls. The sewer has also been extended to service the new development.
Subsequent phases will include a stand alone ambulatory surgery center/medical office building and a second patient tower next to the first patient tower. The addition of the towers requires the abandonment of an existing road within the Town of Gilbert as well as additional parking to meet regulatory requirements.

$35 million expansion and renovation totaling 100,000 square feet, doubling the museum's existing space.
The project includes a 54,000 sq. ft. addition, as well as the complete restoration and renovation of Alumni Memorial Hall which has been the Museum's home since its foundation in 1946.
Atwell provided the demolition plan, topographic surveys, civil engineering including sanitary sewer design, storm water drainage design, site planning, verification of existing available water locations, soil erosion control plan, and an existing steam/utility tunnel plan.
The addition houses new gallery space, state-of-the-art collections storage, conservation and study areas, an auditorium, classrooms and hands-on art-making facilities.

Prototype development of a resort sports facility for implementation across the country.
IMG is creating resort sports academies across the country that will house top training facilities geared towards elite athletes all the way to the weekend warriors. These facilities will provide individual training as well as regional and national tournaments and events.

Retail Pharmaceutical Building
The Cleveland Clinic Foundation needed to relocate an existing pharmacy in order to proceed with construction activities as part of the Hospital's Master Plan. Atwell provided environmental, survey, civil engineering, permitting and entitlements for this redevelopment project. The project elements included site planning, site engineering, utility extensions, design of the parking area, coordination of neighborhood concerns and construction layout.
Atwell has provided various services for 20 projects for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in numerous locations both on campus and off campus. The firm has conducted Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) Surveys, Hazardous Materials Surveys, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for multiple properties/projects associated with redevelopment and expansion of the Cleveland Clinic Campus.

Atwell provided multi-level due diligence services during entitlements, and assisted the design team with environmental services including a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and Phase II site evaluation.
