Penske Racing Headquarters

Renovation of an existing 400,000-SF manufacturing plant into Penske Racing Headquarters.

Prior to joining Atwell, Mr. Anderson assisted in the conversion of a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing/assembly facility into the consolidated Penske Racing Operations headquarters. He was involved in the design and construction of all car assembly areas, customer viewing areas, retail sales areas, and the office headquarters for each team. Scope of work included furniture, fixtures and equipment for the office, assembly, and team areas. The team also designed and built out areas for semi-truck transporters for each race team including locations for loading/unloading and staging.

Chauncey Ranch Auto Mall

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

Chauncey Ranch Auto Mall was a 40 acre auto mall that was developed from the ground up for Penske Automotive Group of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Sales and service franchises for Porsche, BMW / Mini, Audi, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston-Martin, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Acura and Volkswagen were developed as well as the multi-level Penske Race Museum, the Land Rover off road test track, an onsite road course test track, car wash, Hertz rental facility, and small dent repair shop are all located onsite. Total developed building area was approximately 460,000 sf with additional zoning capacity for the addition of a 4-level 1,200 vehicle parking facility in addition to the site capacity of 2,800 vehicles. Total developed cost including land was approximately $125M.

574 AC Manufacturing Complex

Charleston, Tennessee

Location: Charleston, Tennessee

Preparation of civil design documents for mass grading of the site as well as detailed infrastructure plans for 310 acres of the 574-acre site. Atwell is providing extensive geotechnical and grading analysis was conducted to balance the earthwork on the site while maintaining client's extremely tight tolerances for interconnectivity of facilities and plant infrastructure components.

Site constraints included wetlands, streams, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) high tension lines, rail spur, water/sewer service connections and coordination with TDOT for access road realignment. Permitting is nearly complete and expected to be received on schedule to meet client requirements.

We've been instrumental in providing due diligence support in obtaining over $300M of State and Federal grant funding, tax, and energy credits for the development infrastructure and construction of the project.
